Fletcher, Dr Chris
Job Title: Keeper of Special Collections, Bodleian Library
College: Exeter
Period/ Subject:
Email address: chris.fletcher@bodley.ox.ac.uk
Research Interests:
As Keeper of Special Collections at the Bodleian Library I am interested in the development of our collections of outstanding printed, manuscript and ‘born-digital’ research material and in making them available to the academic community in Oxford and beyond, through traditional cataloguing and reading room access, in the context of projects and via more outward facing impact activities such as exhibitions. As an English Faculty member I have a particular interest in literary archives and manuscripts from the early modern period to date and am always keen to discuss the potential of these to help in research and teaching. Recently catalogued and newly accessible collections of literary interest include the Abinger papers (of Shelley and Godwin), the papers of Anthony Sampson, John le Carre, Bruce Chatwin and letters of Philip Larkin to Monica Jones. I run a series of master classes on literary manuscripts each Michaelmas term with Professor Kathryn Sutherland, to which members of Faculty in particular are welcome.
