Part-time Departmental Lecturer in Celtic

Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages, 41 Wellington Square; Faculty of English Language and Literature in association with Jesus College, Oxford

Grade 7: £31,076 - £38,183 with a discretionary range to £41,709 p.a. (pro rata)

The Faculties are seeking to appoint a 0.5 post to undertake advanced teaching and academic research in Celtic languages and literature.

The post will involve up to 7 hours a week of teaching covering medieval, middle and modern Welsh Language and Literature; and old and middle Irish Language and Literature. Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree and normally a Master's degree in Celtic; and must hold a PhD/DPhil in Celtic (or have submitted a doctoral thesis by 1 August 2017); and should have the ability to teach undergraduate students across a range of topics in Celtic language and literature in both the Welsh and Irish branches. They should possess a good a good knowledge of Medieval Irish and Welsh.
