FACULTY BASED ACADEMIC APPOINTMENTS
The Faculty has 78 permanent academic postholders and it is unlikely that more than 2 or 3 of these would be advertised in any one year, although there are occasional opportunities for fixed term Faculty posts.
RESEARCH APPOINTMENTS
The Faculty occasionally has vacancies for Research Assistants or Post-doctoral Fellows, usually as part of an externally funded grant.
Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in English Language Lexicography
Grade 7: Salary in the range £29,249 - £31,020 p.a.
The Faculty is looking for a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow who will pursue a research project in English Language Lexicography (i.e. the academic study of dictionary-making - the practice, its products, their histories and their relationship to their cultural contexts) under the mentorship of Charlotte Brewer. The proposed research project may be in any topic in English Language Lexicography, but applications are particularly encouraged in areas relating to the OED, in dictionaries of current English, and in related areas of language technology such as language corpora.
Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships are designed to give their holders supported experience in a broad range of academic duties; as such, it will also be expected that the postholder will teach for an average of 2-3 hours per week. A full range of professional and career development support will also be provided.
The closing date for applications is noon on 23 May 2012. View full details here.
COLLEGE APPOINTMENTS
Colleges often appoint staff to temporary teaching positions and junior research fellow posts. We will advertise this on this page, where we have been informed of them, but they are more usually advertised on individual college websites and also on the University website and jobs.ac.uk.
The Faculty has not been informed of any current College posts.
ADMINISTRATIVE APPOINTMENTS
Administrative vacancies arise infrequently, but will be advertised on this site, the University website and jobs.ac.uk.
