English Faculty Open Day for prospective undergraduates: 16 September
If you're interested in applying to study English at Oxford University, you're very welcome to join us at one of the University's Open Days which will give you the chance to visit the Faculty, learn more about the courses available, and experience a taster lecture. Please see the programme below for more information. You do not need to join all sessions – please choose which ones will be most helpful for you.
Staff and current students will be present throughout the day to answer questions about the course, studying at Oxford, and the application process. We welcome students interested in joint schools (English and History; English and Classics; English and Modern Languages) to all of our talks.
The English Faculty Library will also be open throughout the day, and visitors are welcome to drop in any time. The Library holds the University’s main student lending collections for English Language and Literature, including American and postcolonial literatures.
Parents are welcome to attend the Open Days, but to avoid overcrowding we would ask that they do not attend the lectures and talks scheduled in the morning. However, there is often space available in the afternoon sessions. The Faculty will be open from 10 am to 4 pm.
All talks will take place in the English Faculty building, on the corner of St Cross and Manor Roads, and last half an hour unless otherwise stated.
