Pas de deux for a hunchback and a cathedral: Roland Petit's ballet 'Notre-Dame de Paris'
I have worked on various authors and periods in English, French and German literature. The main focus of my recent research is the relationship between literature, music and dance, and the ways in which works of literature have been adapted by librettists and choreographers since the beginnings of ballet history. I am currently researching into dance adaptations of Shakespeare's works.
I mainly teach Shakespeare and Early Modern Drama, with a particular focus on performance and adaptation.
