Dr Gareth Lloyd Evans (Rebecca Marsland Career Development Fellow in English, St Hilda's College) has been awarded a Research Networking Grant by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). The AHRC funding will support the expansion of the Old Norse Emotion Network, which was inaugurated in 2021.

The AHRC funding will bring together 15 leading international scholars to consider fundamental questions about how we can, and should, approach the study of emotion in Old Norse sources, and to shape the future directions of this emerging field. The network will hold three workshops across 2024-6, two in Oxford (at St Hilda's College) and one in Reykjavík (at the University of Iceland).

The network will be directed by Dr Evans (PI) and Dr Brynja Þorgeirsdóttir of the University of Iceland (Co-I).
