Supervisor: Laura Ashe
Research Interests: Heralds, Chivalry, Romances, Book Culture, Cultural History, Tournaments, Anglo-French Relations
Doctoral Research: My DPhil research explores the book-culture and literary ambitions of late-medieval English heralds. More specifically, I am interested in heralds’ engagement with the conventions of vernacular romance, their contribution to an earlier age of textual disinformation, as well as their guiding hand in shaping aristocrats’ performance of chivalry and violence. My research is supervised by Professor Laura Ashe and is co-funded by the Open-Oxford-Cambridge AHRC DTP, the Clarendon Fund, and All Souls College.
