Applicants must apply online using the Oxford Graduate Application form. All English Graduate programmes use the University’s early January deadline (Tuesday 5 January 2027). All applications received for our graduate programmes by the January deadline will also be considered for funding.
We strongly recommend that you submit your application well in advance of the deadline. Only full applications will be considered, therefore please ensure that we have received all required elements of the application by the deadline. This includes references, so apply before the deadline, and contact your referees well in advance.
Please note that the English Faculty does not use the November deadline and so any applications submitted before this date will be considered along with those submitted for the January deadline.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools may not be used to generate documents or form the basis of documents that are used in your application. Our academic assessors will be looking for your own insights and critical evaluation skills, so it is unlikely that using AI tools to create your supporting documents will improve your chances of success.
