Faculty of English awarded top spot in QS global university rankings

The QS global university rankings have been released today and we’re delighted to announce that the Faculty of English has been ranked as world leader in our subject. The QS World University Rankings by Subject are based upon academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact. 

Professor Ros Ballaster, Chair of the Board of the Faculty of English, said: ‘The Faculty of English at Oxford has, like so many others, given its all over the past year to maintaining and advancing the highest standards in our subject. I am delighted that we have retained our place as the top-ranked Faculty in the world by QS for another year and want to pay tribute to the talent, dedication and creativity of all our tutors and students.’

The Faculty of English is not the only subject from Oxford’s Humanities Division to take the top spot, with the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages also being ranked world leader. The University of Oxford was also awarded the top spot in three other subject areas: Anatomy and Physiology, Geography, and Pharmacy and Pharmacology.
