Congratulations to Professor Ankhi Mukherjee who has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. Founded in 1868, the Royal Historical Society is the UK’s foremost society working for historians and history. Fellowships are awarded to those who have made an original contribution to historical scholarship. Professor Michèle Mendelssohn was also elected in this latest intake.
The Society's remit includes policy work, advocacy in debates about the study of history, publishing, and prizes and awards.
Professor Mukherjee commented: I thrilled to have this recognition of my research and teaching in literary history and the history of medicine. It is an honour to belong to this international and diverse group of scholars defining the study of the past for the globally interlinked present and a wiser, kinder future to come.
