Congratulations to Jasmine Ashworth (Jesus College), who has been awarded this year’s Sir John Rhŷs Prize for her essay ‘Yn Nifant [into oblivion]: A Preliminary Study of the Post-Mortem Treatment of Bodies in Medieval Welsh Literature’.

Jasmine commented: "I'm honoured to be named this year's winner of the Sir John Rhŷs prize for my essay on the post-mortem treatment of bodies in Medieval Welsh literature. It is an absolute privilege to engage with these texts in their original language, and to study such a rich literary tradition. I am very grateful to my tutors for their support, and the judges for selecting my essay."
