The Contagion Cabaret: film release

I have a funny feeling we've been here before...

Take the long view on the current pandemic with a motley selection of expert talks, readings and songs.

The full performance (suitable for ages 14+) will be available to stream online from 10am on 19 June 2020 on the Contagion Cabaret website: https://www.contagioncabaret.co.uk/

The Contagion Cabaret is a collaboration between Chipping Norton Theatre and the Diseases of Modern Life team (University of Oxford), led by Professor Sally Shuttleworth. Based on the successful Contagion Cabaret, which originally toured to venues including the British Academy and the Science Museum in 2017/18, this imaginative, fast-paced performance will engage teenagers and adults with historical perspectives on responses to pandemics and the contemporary dimensions of the challenges raised.

Find out more here.

There is also a competition for schools details of which can be found on the Contagion Cabaret website. Pupils are being asked to watch the film and respond to it in any way they like, whether it be prose, poem, art, music, video or another medium, for the chance to win a £150 voucher.

The project is supported by TORCH (The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities). You can see a trailer for the film below.
