Photography is a powerful medium which, unlike other formats, has burgeoned over time rather than dwindled. The history of photography is often about who controls the image, and to that end, the role of the photographer is critical. We are moving towards a world in which everything is witnessed, everything is recorded, and control is moving from central authorities and a few photographs in the hands of many to one in which everyone can own their own story and their own truth.
