The Bodleian Library and Faculty of English are running a workshop, competition and exhibition for contemporary artists and craftspeople who work with books: Redesigning the Medieval Book. The aim is for contemporary artists and craftspeople to make new books inspired by medieval ones in an exhibition at the Bodleian, curated by Daniel Wakelin, Jeremy Griffiths Professor of Medieval English Palaeography. Further details are available here.
We are hosting free workshops on medieval books Friday 10 March and Thursday 23 March (for which we will pay reasonable travel expenses). Participants must register by Friday 1 March by contacting Daniel Wakelin firstname.lastname@example.org and Madeline Slaven email@example.com. The following competition will run until 30 September 2017. The exhibition will open on 1 December 2017. We look forward to hearing from participants.
