Academics on the air over the holiday

A number of academics associated with the English Faculty have featured on BBC radio over the winter break, discussing their research and areas of expertise.

Professor Diane Purkiss was interviewed on The Thought Show, which airs on the BBC World Service, on 21st December. The interview, which pertained to witchcraft trials in Europe, can be heard on the BBC website here.

Sir Jonathan Bate, Provost of Worcester College, appeared on Radio 4's In Our Time on 28th December. He participated in a panel discussion of Shakespeare's Hamlet, which can be heard as part of the full episode here.

On Boxing Day, Professor Simon Palfrey featured in Radio 4's The World at One. Professor Palfrey, who specialises in Shakespeare studies and has co-written 'Macbeth Macbeth', discussed the enduring resonance of Shakespeare's original text.
