Head of Administration and Finance – Sadie Slater
Pronouns: she / they
Sadie leads the Faculty's administrative team and is responsible for the effective and efficient day-to-day non-academic management and administration of the Faculty. Working in close partnership with the Faculty Board Chair and other senior academic staff, Sadie plays a key role in the Faculty's strategic and operational planning, designing and implementing Faculty policies and procedures and ensuring that the Faculty meets divisional and University requirements.
Sadie is secretary to the Faculty Board and Planning, Personnel, and Resources Committee.
Jess Stacey - Operations Manager
Pronouns: she/her
Jess is responsible for the smooth running of all operational functions and services within the Faculty, including office management, health and safety, IT provision and governance. She ensures the Faculty Office team provides a welcoming front of house service and full administrative support to the wider administrative team, as well as key operational services to students, academic staff and visitors. Jess also has oversight of building-related matters and is responsible for liaison with the Schwarzman Centre Building Operations and IT teams. She acts as the the Departmental Safety Officer and is Secretary to the EDI Committee.
English Faculty Office
Sean Ahern – Interim Operations Manager
The Operations Manager provides support to the Head of Administration and Finance and is secretary to the Operations Committee and Equality & Diversity Committee, and is involved in arranging many of the special lectures hosted by the Faculty. They are also responsible for oversight of HR, health and safety matters within the Faculty (including DSE assessments), co-ordination of IT support and purchases, and maintaining the faculty teaching registers.
Kirstie Logan-Fowler - Operations Assistant

Kirstie provides administrative support to the Operations Manager and the Faculty office. She maintains the Faculty Registers and processes the applications to the Maxwell and Meyerstein fund.
Kirstie is an LGBT+ Ally.
Michelle Walker - Events Officer and Executive Assistant
Pronouns: She/her
The Events Officer and Executive Assistant plays a key role in the Faculty of English’s administrative team. Michelle is the main point of contact for all Faculty events, including research seminars, graduate forms, conferences and special lectures. She is responsible for organising room bookings, catering, accommodation and travel arrangements related to event delivery.
Michelle also acts as secretary to the faculty’s special lecture committees (Clarendon, Oxford Wells, O’Donnell and Visiting Professor of Creative Media) and to the News UK Liaison Committee. Michelle is a member of the Faculty Office team and provides day-to-day support for academic, student and visitor enquiries. She also acts as Executive Assistant, providing administrative support to the Head of Administration and Finance, Deputy Head of Administration and Finance and the Faculty Board Chair.
Hope Lukonyomoi – Administrative Assistant
Hope provides general administrative support to the Faculty of English Language and Literature. Her responsibilities include maintaining and updating the Faculty website, administering the Faculty's Essay and Composition Prizes and Academic Visitor Scheme, and coordinating travel and accommodation bookings.
She also supports the preparation and distribution of the Faculty's weekly newsletter and the What's On events listing
Finance Team
Amy Barker – Finance Officer
As Finance Officer, Amy is responsible for the smooth running of the Faculty’s day to day finances. This includes administering research grants, providing advice on matters relating to casual payroll, reviewing and approving Faculty allowance requests (under £500), assisting with academic conference set up and administration, and budget setting and forecasting.
Ruth McGuire – Finance Assistant
Ruth is the Finance Assistant for the English Faculty and assists Amy Barker (Finance Office) with processing payments and expenses claims.
Academic Administration
Zoë Hart – Education Manager
Pronouns: she / her
Zoë is the Education Manager for the English Faculty, and works with the academic administration team to ensure the smooth operation of the Faculty’s activities, including admissions, undergraduate and graduate taught and research programmes, and undergraduate access and outreach work. Zoë is responsible for driving continuous improvement in education-related areas, and providing strategic advice and guidance to faculty and administrative colleagues. She is also secretary to the Teaching Committee.
Andy Davice – Academic Administrator
Pronouns: he / him
Andy provides support to the Directors of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies and Admissions, and is Secretary to the Undergraduate Studies Committee. He manages Graduate Admissions and FHS exams. He is Disability & Welfare Coordinator for Graduate and Undergraduate students at the English Faculty, so please talk to Andy regarding any health or disability related concerns.
Emily Richards – Graduate Studies Officer (PGR)
Emily is responsible for the on-course administration of the DPhil, including transfer and confirmation of status and the processing of all graduate forms such as suspension of status, extension of time and appointment of examiners. She responds to queries from current and prospective students.
Lis Allen – Academic Administration Officer
Pronouns: she / her
Lis assists with all aspects of taught-course administration, including organising induction sessions, recording and confirming option choices and maintaining student records. She also acts as secretary to the undergraduate JCC and the Prelims Exam Board.
Nina Crisp – Academic Administration Officer
Nina administers the MSt and MPhil courses, including admissions, essay submissions and responding to queries from current and prospective students.
Holly Bickerton - Academic Administration Officer
Holly provides administrative support for postgraduate courses and admissions.
Tom Manning - Academic Administration Officer
Tom is responsible for the administration of the FHS exams, including preparing exam boards and dealing with submissions and exams, as well as liaising with examiners. He responds to queries from current students.
Elizabeth Champion - Timetabling and Teaching Support Officer
Pronouns: She/Her
Elizabeth is responsible for all arrangements for teaching in the faculty including producing lecture lists and timetables, managing the Virtual Learning Environment, and overseeing the process for recording lectures.
Communications, Outreach and HR
Katy Terry – Communications Officer
Pronouns: she / her
Katy looks after all communications activity at the Faculty, including maintaining and updating the English Faculty website, promoting public events, managing our social media channels, and overseeing internal communications.
Molly Dineley - Outreach Co-ordinator
Molly looks after the Faculty’s outreach activities, including organising school visits, coordinating open days, and managing a team of wonderful student ambassadors. They also run the Faculty’s Twitter account (@EngFac-Outreach).
Theresa Phillips – HR Advisor
As part of the Humanities Division HR Shared Service team, Theresa supports the Faculty with Human Resources Administration processes including recruitment, Staff Cards, Visa enquiries, Casual Payroll processes and any other queries relating to the employee life cycle.
Research Support
Ruth Moore - Research Support Officer (Maternity Cover)
Ruth provides support and assistance to Faculty members and researchers. She provides advice about internal funding opportunities and offers support with funding applications. She is also secretary to the Research Committee.
Andrea Thomson – Research Facilitator, Humanities Division
Andrea provides support and assistance to Faculty members and researchers applying for research grants. She is available to provide advice on funding opportunities and offers support with applications.
